In June 2010, The Duke of Leinster lodge and UGLQ Board of Benevolence  were delighted to make a donation of $800 to the Peninsula Animal Aid Shelter in Redcliffe. The donations were made in memory of The lodge’s Past Master Lawrie Preston.

Cheques were presented by the Worshipful Master Peter Wickens to Betty Preston – widow of Lawrie and former Director of the shelter. This is the second donation made by the lodge to the shelter and just one example of the numerous charitable donations made by the lodge over the years.
